My journey into design was unexpected. While completing my Finance degree, I stumbled upon a web design bootcamp in 2016. It was a whirlwind of HTML, CSS, and WordPress, but it ignited a spark within me. I realized that building things, especially things that people would actually use, was far more exciting than spreadsheets and financial models.
This realization led me to Cregital, a leading design agency in Africa. There, I honed my skills as a Web Experience Designer, contributing to the digital presence of some of the most recognizable brands across the continent. I delved into the world of user research, learning to understand the needs and behaviors of diverse audiences.
Over the past few years, I've had the privilege of working on over 10 impactful UX projects spanning various domains, from fintech and logistics to enterprise software. I've learned the importance of empathy, iterative design, and building products that truly solve user problems.
In 2022, I embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Tallinn, Estonia, to pursue an M.Sc. in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Tartu. This experience has deepened my understanding of human behavior in the digital realm, equipping me with the knowledge and tools to create even more user-centric and impactful designs.
Currently, I'm fortunate to be part of the talented team at Malwarebytes, where I contribute to the design of enterprise-grade security solutions. My focus remains on crafting intuitive and user-friendly experiences that empower businesses to protect themselves from cyber threats.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I'm deeply passionate about user research in understudied African contexts. I believe that inclusive design starts with understanding the unique needs and challenges faced by people in these communities. My research focuses on areas like financial inclusion, digital literacy, and accessibility, with the goal of empowering individuals through technology.
When I'm not designing or researching, you can usually find me exploring the vibrant digital games landscape, catching up on the latest series, or simply enjoying the quiet moments of reflection. I'm a lifelong learner, always eager to expand my knowledge and explore new horizons.
